Our Story

We broke the gate open

Broken Gate Brewing wasn't born from a business plan. It was born from a question: what happens when you stop asking permission?

Our founders — a pair of Baltimore locals who spent years perfecting recipes in garages and basements — decided to stop brewing for small groups and start brewing for everyone who cares about what they drink.

Today, every batch is brewed here in the city, with ingredients sourced as close to home as possible. We brew what we want to drink. We build a taproom where you want to stay. The rest follows.
